Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Clear answers to help you navigate care with confidence. Find everything you need to know about our intake process, accepted insurance, and billing policies.

Services & Care

1. Do you treat speech delays in adults as well as children?

Yes. Our Speech Therapy (ST) team works with clients of all ages. We support children developing language for the first time, as well as adults recovering from medical events or seeking to improve social communication and articulation.

3. How do I know if I need Mental Health therapy, OT, ST, or Mentoring?

You don’t need to figure that out alone. During our intake process, we look at your specific challenges—whether it’s emotional regulation (Mental Health), sensory and motor skills (OT), communication (ST), or goal setting (Mentoring). We will recommend the service—or combination of services—that fits your needs best.

2. How is Mentoring different from Therapy?

Great question. Therapy typically focuses on healing, emotional processing, and mental health diagnoses. Mentoring is action-oriented and focuses on the “now and next.” Mentors help you build practical life skills, stay accountable to goals, and navigate daily hurdles in school or work.

4. My child has sensory issues but no official diagnosis. Can Occupational Therapy (OT) help?

Absolutely. You do not always need a specific medical diagnosis to benefit from OT. If you or your child struggle with sensory processing, fine motor skills, or daily routines (like getting dressed or organizing schoolwork), our OT team can build a plan to build those skills.

Getting Started & Logistics

1. Do you offer virtual appointments (Telehealth)?

Yes, we offer secure virtual sessions for many of our services. However, please note that for clinical therapy (Mental Health, OT, ST), our providers must be licensed in the state where you are physically located during the session (currently Massachusetts). Mentoring services may have more flexibility—please ask us during your consultation.

2. How quickly can I get an appointment? (Waitlist Policy)

We work hard to match clients with providers as fast as possible. If a specific therapist is full, we will add you to our active waitlist and update you weekly. We also triage based on urgency and flexibility (e.g., daytime appointments often open up faster than evenings).

Insurance & Payment

1. Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans for Mental Health, OT, and ST services. Mentoring is often a self-pay service, though some plans may cover aspects of it. Please contact our office with your card information, and we will verify your benefits for you.

3. How does billing work?

We keep it simple. Payment (copays or private fees) is due at the time of service. We keep a secure card on file to handle payments automatically so you don’t have to worry about invoices. If you ever have a question about a charge, our billing coordinator is available to walk you through it.

2. Can I pay out-of-pocket (Private Pay)?

Yes. If you prefer not to use insurance, or if you have a high-deductible plan, we offer transparent private pay rates. We can provide you with a “Superbill” to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

4. How do I access my statements or pay my bill?

You can manage all your financials securely online. We use TheraNest, a secure Client Portal, where you can view invoices, download past statements, and make payments 24/7. When you become a client, we will send you an invitation link to set up your portal account.
